Ce Ilhuitl: Ancient Roots of Día de los Muertos and the Altar Traditions with David Atekpatzin Young

Atekpatzin is a tribal elder (Apache/Pueblo), traditional healer, consultant, historian, author, artist, and musician. Atekpatzin has provided program design, evaluation and training locally and nationally for thirty years. He has worked as a health educator, prevention specialist, psychotherapist, and traditional healer serving diverse populations. He is founder of the Calmecaztlan, a traditional Indigenous school, and has taught courses at universities and high schools.

Ofrendas’ programming draws upon traditions passed on for thousands of years and the creative spirit of community to activate the digital space in educational ways, while co-creating and sharing in a culture of learning.
