Donate to the LCAC & Grow With Us

Dear Community,

As we move into the holiday season, we are writing with an update about all we have accomplished in the last year and to thank you for supporting us.

In the last twelve months we completed a pre-development study, which brought our vision clearer into view. We are building more than a cultural center; we are building an integrated cultural campus in the heart of the Sun Valley neighborhood.

The LCAC will consist of an arts academy (La Academia), a research library, two museums (the Mexican Heritage Museum and the Caribbean, Central and South American Heritage Museum), retail space (Hijos del Sol), an eatery, and the first Mexican art inspired hotel in the nation. This will cement us as an anchor in Sun Valley’s community development for generations to come by bringing an immersive cultural arts experience to the people of Denver and Colorado.

We have not only expanded our scope but also deepened our partnerships locally and internationally. This summer we offered original programming for local elementary school children with GDLab, a dance company based out of Guadalajara, Mexico. The company is made of two groups, Hikuri and Arte Escena Crisol, which focus on interdisciplinary performances. Our goal is to establish sustainable international partnerships that increase access to art education while supporting academic rigor close to home.

With 2020 ahead, the LCAC will organize a “listening tour” with artists, young adults, and families about what LCAC programming could consist of while developing partnerships along the way. Meanwhile, we will be remodeling a nearby warehouse space where we will pilot programs that transcend artistic and national boundaries while engaging the public in the creative process. The remodeling will begin in January 2020.

This would not be possible without your continued support. It will take every single one of us to build an institution that represents the full richness and diversity of Latino art, history and culture. Our vision is bigger than any one person.

As you plan your end of year donations, we respectfully ask you to consider supporting the LCAC by contributing $10-$25 a month to help ensure the financial stability of our programs.
