About the Event
The Latino Cultural Arts Center proudly presents “Popul/Arte”, an Artist-Scholar Residency that merges art, culture and theory. The inaugural team includes the international talents of activist-scholar, Dr. Michael Wilson Becerril, and Negráfrica, a Brazilian collective of interdisciplinary artists.
Together, they will offer EIGHT public workshops that break down the barriers to higher education and to making art. As the world faces mutually intensifying crises, we invite you to imagine a better future by exploring decolonial approaches to environmental justice.
“Popul/Arte” will offer two weekly virtual workshops over four weeks, launching May 18th, 2021, at 6 PM, that are free to the public!
